Annie McCubbin Returns to Whitehorse Artspace at Box Hill Town Hall
Experience the diversity of portraits held within the Whitehorse Art Collection, from our first acquisition in 1927 to contemporary donations and acquisitions. The star and inspiration for this exhibition is Frederick McCubbin’s portrait of his wife Annie painted in 1910 (Annie was a frequent model for her husband). Amongst the many works being exhibited from the Whitehorse Art Collection are portraits by Ian Armstrong, Norma Bull, Eva Georgina Lucas, Tom Roberts and Peter Wegner, the 2021 Archibald Prize winner. Contributing to this celebration of portraits are local artists from the Box Hill Art Group and the Whitehorse Arts Association. The inclusion of artwork by local artists provides an overview of the many subjects that are important to us – family, national heroes or international celebrities.
Entry is open to members of the Box Hill Art Group and Whitehorse Arts Association.
