As the Mid Year Exhibition of the Group approaches, you are invited to join with other members in this joint exhibition. Every year the paintings, prints and drawings are varied in topic and approach and often of impressive quality. 
MID YEAR MEMBERS EXHIBITION, at Box Hill Community Art Centre, 470 Station Street, Box Hill, 3128.
• Entries, including entry forms, are due 3rd June.
• Deliver paintings to BHCAC between 9am – 10am on Monday 17th June.
• The opening is 7.30pm on 17th June, a great occasion.
• The exhibition runs Monday evening 17th – Saturday 22nd June.
• We invite volunteers to help with the bump in from 9am.

Available as a Term (with make up classes in any other term class for missed classes) or Casual/Single Classes.

SATURDAY & WEDNESDAY

Life Drawing

The two life drawing sessions in May were a success, both male models were great to draw with rewarding poses.
Book now and be ready for Saturday 15th June and Wednesday 19th June. Our model for both sessions in June is named April.

Develop and hone your drawing skills at our monthly two hour life drawing sessions with Box Hill Art Group. You will find great professional models and friendly fellow artists. All levels of ability are welcome. Cost $20 per session. The sessions are untutored.
Bring your own paper and drawing materials, (tables, easels, boards, coffee tea and biscuits) are provided.

Burnley Horticultural Gardens

Sunday 26th May, 10am

Burnley Gardens in Richmond is a nine hectare garden, home to nearly 1000 different species of plants, with some of the oldest trees in Melbourne. It will be a wonderful location for plein air sketching.

The gathering point will be the corner of Swan Street and Eastern Drive (10am), then we can walk in and explore the area from there.

WEDNESDAY

Paint and Chat

On Wednesday a group meet in Drycraft West to paint and chat from 1 – 3pm except for once a month when the room is reserved for life drawing. It’s a friendly atmosphere so come along and join us. This is an all media session.

Gallery One  (MVAC) is an independent and not-for-profit community art gallery/teaching studio and one of the longest running organisations of its kind in Australia (founded in 1974) This organisation, located within the Mitcham Cultural Village, is promoting and showcasing art and crafts with a strong community and art teaching focus.

Study Tour

Exhibitions

Dianne Fogwell – Prescience – Geelong Gallery – 23rd March – 28th July

IT’S WORTH THE TRIP
The Geelong Gallery currently has an outstanding exhibition. A single work by Diane Fogwell comprising 56 colourful hand printed panels featuring woodcut, linocut and burn drawings. It  depicts the Australian outback including flora and fauna as it changes across the seasons through bushfire and climate change.

Luminous: A Festival of Watercolour – Victorian Artist Society – 17 – 27th May

Box Hill Art Group’s Mid Year Exhibition – Box Hill Community Arts Centre – 17th – 22nd June

The exhibition opening will be in the foyer gallery at BHCAC on Monday 17th June at 7.30pm where awards will be announced and presented.
